@lain Not sure whether based was supposed to be debased or biased, but both work.
@ParadeGrotesque I love it, it's perfectly over the top!
That #IBelieveBiden is trending shows that for most people, politics isn't about principles, it's just about cheering for your team and booing the other team.

@ink_slinger Just looked and there's really nothing around here. I did learn that a group has been in the process of starting a grocery coop in the small city 35 minutes south of me for the last four years, but that's the closest to good news I could find.
I wonder what the disconnect is. You'd think more people would be interested in this sort of thing. You don't even need to be on the left; people all over the ideological map know that big corporations are screwing them.
@ink_slinger As someone who loves using a credit union rather than a bank, I'd at least be potentially interested in joining other coops. It's interesting how few there seem to be, though. I spend a lot of the year in Northern Virginia, a huge area with millions of people, and the nearest food coop in an hour or more away in the next state.
@ink_slinger Ha, I read your other post right after writing this. 🙂
@ink_slinger Given how often the real purpose of regulation is to protect entrenched interests, it's still not unfair to refer to interlopers as disrupters. But I take your point that the end result often seems to be simply to create more entrenched interests.
It would be interesting to see what the result would be if one of these sorts of apps were built as a cooperative.
Why do so many people seem to think that #JustinAmash entering the U.S. presidential race will help Trump when the opposite is so obviously, manifestly the case? It's truly baffling. 🤷♂️

I have to admit, that declassified footage that people say means that #AliensExist is interesting. Any knowledgeable people have insight?
I haven't been to #Slashdot in years, but today they have a poll asking which videoconferencing tool people prefer, and NONE of the options are open source. It's sad, like watching someone who was once a great athlete try to play the game long past their prime.
Matt Reed on community college as an alternative to a gap year. #EndCCStigma
Oh, damn, #2600 seems seriously fscked:
@Ricardus I also read Wikipedia's summary. Interesting that it's not mentioned. 🤔
When you spend weeks breeding flowers in #AnimalCrossing....
@Ricardus The summary I just read does sound pretty depressing. Does it cover nuclear power, or just biomass, wind, and solar?
@natecull All of this lends weight to something I've said for a long time. For the vast majority, politics is not about principles, which at best are a distraction. It's simply about cheering for your team and booing the other team.
#WordPress has been around for nearly twenty years at this point. But don't let that fool you into thinking that it actually works yet.
