I'm very impressed by btrfs' RAID capabilities. Still getting my head around subvolumes, but seems to have beneficial implications for btrfs' snapshot abilities... New home server is running on a pair of SSDs with RAID1 & a couple big spinning disks for precious family data (R1) & device backups (R0)...
Public, listed corporations, with the rights of people in most markets, are "engines of inequity". They exist to privatise profit and socialise cost. They are anti-Commons, except to the extent that they can leverage the Commons to achieve greater inequity on behalf of their shareholders. As such, it is not in their nature to be allies of "open". They are exploiters, at best. People, if they hope to increase equity (or save our planet), should shun them & instead contribute to communities.

Greed and #securitytheater are the main reasons air travel is eye-wateringly unsustainable and generally unpleasant.
